Banks are increasingly relying upon Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and specialist self-service kiosks to conduct routine transactions (such as withdrawing cash, making deposits and paying bills), with the objective of reducing costs and increasing convenience to their customers. Zytronic’s PCT projected capacitive touch technology has been used in these applications for more than a decade. They enable the system designers to create terminals that can be deployed in any environment, as the touch sensors will function outdoors and in all-weather. Zytronic touchscreens also offers ATM designers useful options, such as privacy filters and thick toughened glass designs capable of withstanding almost any impact or attack. Electronic security is also of paramount importance in these applications, and as Zytronic develop their own touch controllers, the chipset and touch detection firmware can be incorporated in Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant systems, enabling the creation of encrypted touch screens.
