UNIQUE J-CURVED MULTI-TOUCH TECHNOLOGY DISTINGUISHES ARUZE MUSO FROM THE COMPETITION

To stand out in the competitive casino gaming world, Aruze gaming Technologies’ flagship slot machine stands uses Zytronic’s multi-touch sensor technology in a unique way.

J curved multi touch technology used in gaming slot machines

Key Information

The Muso Curve 43 is designed around a vertical 43” (110 cm) touch screen curved asymmetrically into a ‘J’ shape, with a more pronounced curve at the bottom. As the size and form of the 43” J-curved touch sensor were unusual, Aruze turned to Zytronic to quickly transform the slot machine from concept into reality.

Zytronic’s patented and award-winning projected capacitive touch sensing technology (MPCT™) forms the primary interface between the Muso Curve 43 and the player. In addition to the company’s experience and technology, Zytronic brought its ability to provide a completely customised design in an extremely short space of time. With minimal tooling costs and no restriction on quantities, its flexible approach to manufacturing enabled the Aruze product development team to bring the new slot machine to market incredibly quickly.

The J-curved ZyBrid® touch sensor is manufactured from 4.0mm thick thermally strengthened, low-iron glass which eliminates the typical greenish tint that could affect colour reproduction of the high definition display and backlit LED ‘pinstripes’.

The custom ZyBrid® touch sensor is paired with Zytronic’s latest, proprietary ZXY500 touch controller, providing multi-touch functionality, sophisticated ‘palm rejection’ algorithms, class leading electromagnetic immunity and millisecond level touch response speeds – which, when combined, deliver an unbeatable player experience.

In addition to developing its own touch controllers, Zytronic is unique in that its vertically integrated manufacturing facilities produce the touch sensors completely in-house; starting from the raw glass sheets which are cut, shaped, printed, toughened and bent, before being converted into fully functioning multi-touch panels in its ISO class 5 cleanrooms.

For this project, the initial design was finalised, and prototypes were delivered to Aruze for review and evaluation within a few weeks. Following some further requested modifications, second-stage prototypes were produced shortly thereafter, before moving into production. This rapid touch sensor development cycle ensured that Aruze was able to launch its flagship Muso Curve 43 at G2E 2018 to widespread acclaim.

Tetsuya Yokota, President at Aruze gaming Technologies said: “Aruze focuses on creating high expectations, excellent operability and novelty as critical elements of our products. When developing Muso Curve 43, we consistently adhered to these principles, to develop a novel and ergonomic design, that we believe stands out from the competition. The main reason why Aruze chose Zytronic for this project, was the quality and easy operability of their multi-touch technology. Both were critical attributes required for the Muso Curve 43.”
