Jumping out of planes, getting stuck in the mud and eating their body weight in cake are just some of the activities the team at Zytronic have been getting up to in the last few months!
Of course, it was all in the name of charity and with thousands of pounds being raised, we felt they all deserved a big pat on the back and huge congratulations for their efforts.
The fundraising started with Production Clerk Tracy Price doing a Skydive for ABF, the Soldiers’ Charity. Jumping an eye-watering 10,000 feet, Tracy raised £360 for her chosen charity.

Ten Zytronic ladies put on their pink tops and war paint and threw themselves, literally, into Pretty Muddy to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Carolyn Simpson (Customer Services and Marketing Assistant), Fran Tsang (Reception/Administrator), Jemma Wylie (Management Accountant), Judith Robson (Finance Assistant), Karen Sowerby (Customer Service Assistant), Kathryn Nicholson (Financial Accounts Controller), Lyndsey Pitt (HR Administrator), Morag MacDonald (Customer Service Manager), Sue Jordan (Sales Manager) and Suzanne Mannion (Production Technician) together raised over £1000 taking part in this mud-filled £5k obstacle course.

Taking on one the toughest and best half marathon courses in the Country, Jon Rutter (Production Planner), Carolyn Simpson (Customer Service & Marketing assistant) and Beth Henderson (Production Operative) completed the Great North Run in September. All three returned impressive times, and fundraising totals for the charities close to their hearts. Carolyn ran the 13.1miles in 2:16 and raised £886 for Macmillan Cancer Support, Beth raised £944 for the MS Society and secured a time of 2:30 and Jon finished in 2:41 and raised £242 for Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter.

Exhausted after all that effort, we decided it was time for a treat, so we held a Macmillan Coffee Morning at the end of September. The event raised just over £140 beating the amount we raised last year. As part of the day, we held a ‘Bake Off’ competition and Kathryn Nicolson, (Financial Accounts Controller) walked away as our winner with her fantastic burger cake.
Well done to all of our team members who took part in these events and to those back at the ranch who sponsored and supported them!
