Newcastle, UK, 14 June 2022. Touch technology innovator Zytronic will exhibit its latest user interface developments at Digital Signage Japan (Booth 6U04), which runs from the 15th to 17th June 2022. The demonstrations showcase the company’s expertise in glass processing and in-house development capabilities for immersive multitouch experiences for self-service and commercial touchscreen applications.
Visitors to the stand will be able to operate first-hand the innovative ‘slant top’ player interface concept for electronic gaming machines, which showcases Zytronic’s proprietary ElectroglaZ™ technology that delivers electrical power through a transparent glass panel without visible wires or cables. In this demonstration, the custom-shaped ElectroglaZ™ panel simultaneously powers a 21.5” LCD (transmitting data through a wireless HDMI connection), wireless phone charging pad, USB port, and an LED, backlighting a logo printed on the glass. When combined with Zytronic’s ZyBrid® projected capacitive touch technology, designers can create stunning ‘free floating’ user interface designs. In addition, the transparent, raised glass ‘bash button’ delivers the tactile sensation players desire without the reliability, waterproofing, and complex integration issues often associated with traditional mechanical buttons.
Also on the stand is an exclusive preview of Japanese partner and touch display integration specialist DISIGN’s super-thin, double-sided OLED display infoverre® touchscreen module. The company directly attaches Zytronic’s 15.6" ZyBrid® glass touch sensor to the display to reduce the reflective surface. In doing so, the backlight brightness is reduced and no fan is required to dissipate the heat, which contributes to lower running costs through power savings. Target applications for this ultra-lightweight yet robust interactive digital signage system include self-service ordering at quick-service restaurants (QSRs) and other digital out-of-home (DOOH) installations.
