RD&D to offer PCT™ and MPCT™ touch sensing technology in Southern California
Zytronic, the specialist developer and manufacturer of large form factor projected capacitive touch sensor solutions for the self-service, digital signage, gaming, leisure and industrial markets, has further extended its sales channel in North America with the appointment of RD&D Sales Engineering as a manufacturer’s representative. While the agreement covers the complete Zytronic product range, RD&D is expected to focus on opportunities in the fast-growing market for projected capacitive touch sensors.
Based in Southern California, RD&D was founded in 1987 and has offices in Orange, Camarillo and San Diego. The company supplies an extensive range of active and passive electronic components ranging from semiconductors to LCDs. It offers application engineering in support of its sales function.
The Zytronic touchscreen technology available to the RD&D includes its award-winning PCT™ and MPCT™ projected capacitive touch sensors. The latter can detect 40 independent touch points through glass thicknesses of up to 12mm, making them ideal for deployments in public areas, touch-tables and even outdoor locations.
Ian Crosby, Zytronic’s Sales & Marketing Director, commented, “North America is a global focal point for user interface development and Zytronic is taking all possible steps to ensure we are in a position to provide the best support to this market. We welcome RD&D to our team and look forward to benefiting from the more than 25 years of technical sales experience that the company brings.”
