Zytronic’s Engineers Gain Industry Recognition at the British Engineering Excellence Awards

The technical expertise of rugged touch sensor manufacturer Zytronic has been applauded, with the company receiving the Design Team of the Year honour at the 2013 British Engineering Excellence Awards (BEEAs), held in London yesterday. The event, which is now in its fourth year, celebrates the achievements of the country’s engineering elite - individuals, start-ups and large established organisations alike.

Zytronic was recognized for its design engineers’ efforts in developing a state-of-the art large format, heavy duty touch sensor solution with multi-touch operation. For this task multi-discipline, multi-location team had to be assembled and coordinated that were capable of covering a wide range of different technological fields, including electronic engineering, materials science, software development, mechanical engineering and environmental testing.

Zytronic’s Technical Director Dr Andrew Morrison, who led the team, was at the awards ceremony to collect the award. “We are over the moon. It is terrific to receive the appreciation of our peers in such a way and it makes the hard work we put into this project all worthwhile,” he stated. “We took the decision to build this multi-touch solution from the ground up, solely using our own in-house expertise. This has allowed us to create a product that pushes the performance envelope, and has real market impact.”

“Zytronic has always prided itself on its ability to differentiate itself from the competition through use of innovative proprietary technology,” adds Ian Crosby, Sales & Marketing Director at Zytronic. “These awards highlight Britain’s continued strength in all aspects of engineering endeavour and by winning in this category Zytronic has shown that it is one of the companies driving this forward.”
